The availability of Kaizen methodology requirements for continuous improvement in Al-Azhar University libraries

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the availability of the requirements of the Kaizen methodology for continuous improvement in the libraries of Al-Azhar University represented in (general requirements, drafting requirements, application requirements, evaluation requirements) for the Kaizen methodology for continuous improvement in the libraries of the faculties of Al-Azhar University, from the point of view of its employees, and the study relied on the descriptive analytical approach to describe and analyze the administrative reality of Al-Azhar University libraries, and measure the availability of Kaizen methodology requirements for continuous improvement in Al-Azhar University libraries, and the questionnaire was used as a main tool in data collection, as it was distributed to All employees in the libraries of the faculties of Al-Azhar University under study, and the study sample consisted of 71 college libraries to represent the libraries of the faculties of Al-Azhar University, and the number of employees reached 272 individuals, and the number of sample of the study population reached (194) individuals who answered the questionnaire by 71,3% of the total number of workers in the libraries of Al-Azhar University under study, the study reached a number of results, the most important of which is that the requirements of the Kaizen methodology for continuous improvement are available to an average degree in the libraries of the faculties of Al-Azhar University, where the arithmetic averages of the requirements ranged General, drafting requirements, application requirements, and evaluation requirements for the Kaizen methodology between (2,35 to 3,67), and the study also found that Al-Azhar University libraries follow the traditional method of management, and that most of the workers do not have knowledge of the Kaizen methodology for continuous improvement, and the study also found that the most important obstacles and obstacles facing the application of Kaizen methodology for continuous improvement in Al-Azhar University libraries are:  The severe lack of material, human and technical resources, the lack of awareness of employees of the Kaizen methodology for continuous improvement, the lack of commitment of senior management to apply and adopt modern management methods, One of the main recommendations of the study is the need for senior management to adopt the Kaizen methodology for continuous improvement by applying it and make it the pattern, mode and action plan for achieving outstanding levels of performance.
