Abstract

this research seeks to define the concept of audiobooks and show the extent of its impact on paper books. It deals with the Storytel application and presents its most important features and attempts to exist at the global level. With a descriptive presentation of one of the audio book pages, the research also sought to limit the audio-intellectual production of the Egyptian publishers to Storytel and analyze it using the bibliographic method. Its linguistic output and its support with hundreds of vocabulary and the provision of opportunities to learn critical listening and construction, and to replace the visual understanding of written words with the auditory understanding of them. And that the audio book is not a complete substitute for the paper book, but it is an application that finds a place for it with me Many readers, and the number of Egyptian publishers available for audio versions on Storytel has reached 38, and the inventory resulted in the availability of 1,379 audio books, including (987) stories and novels of various romantic, social, classic and other topics, and 2017 marked the beginning of the audio appearance of Egyptian publishers on Storytel, the research recommended increasing awareness of the effects of audio books in the context of the family and school, and educating young people about the importance of audio books and their applications as the most prominent technological developments, and that most publishers tend to apply and activate this technology so that it is not a gesture by some only.
