Remote information services in university libraries A field study

Abstract

The library as a social institution is affected by the changes and challenges facing societies. Perhaps the Corona pandemic and the subsequent closure of libraries and information institutions and the temporary closure or reduction of services to a minimum to contribute to the efforts made to limit the spread of the disease. It can be said that the term library closure is not an accurate expression or At least more appropriate, the library buildings may have closed, but the libraries as an entity are still open, especially with the possibility of working remote library employees from their homes depending on the advanced technical structure and the coherent and fluid workflow at the same time, and some libraries have provided their services unconventionally. The attendance of the beneficiary is not required to the library, hence this study comes to identify those services provided by university libraries remotely, and the extent to which the beneficiaries are satisfied with providing these services, by getting acquainted with some forms of libraries and information centers that provide their services remotely, and the elements of providing This type of services, and the skills required for the information specialist that performs this task
