Implications of sustainable Digital Transformation on Achieving the Goals of Egypt's Vision for Sustainable Development 2030 An Analytical Study According to the Global Digitization Index (GDI)

The current study aimed to evaluate the role of digital transformation in achieving the sustainable development goals within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030 according to the Global Digitization Index (GDI) methodology. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach to study the measures taken to achieve sustainable digital transformation, and the descriptive statistical approach to analyze the data of the Global Digitization Index for 2024. The study concluded that Egypt has made progress in providing various national sectors with many digital services within the digital transformation program. However, the challenges associated with the integration between the adequacy and efficiency of these services provided within the framework of the digital transformation program on the one hand and their support for achieving the sustainable development goals according to Vision 2030 on the other hand still exist. The study revealed a large gap between the available digital capabilities and the level of their use to achieve the strategic goals of sustainable development. Accordingly, the study recommended the necessity of enhancing integration between digital transformation and sustainable development goals by improving the efficiency of digital programs, developing technological infrastructure, and increasing awareness of the importance of digital services while taking advantage of the available opportunities to enhance Egypt's ranking in global indicators.
