Technical records of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority :"study of its reality and vision for its development

This Study discussed the technical records of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority as it is the only entity tasked with monitoring the meteorological changes and weather forecast. The Study included an introduction about the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, its formation, development, structure, administrative competencies. The Study also discussed the record life cycle, the status of the places and environment of storage, physical equipment, which have been evaluated in light of international standards. The Study discussed the evaluation and exclusion system and provided a proposal for the evaluation and exclusion system according to international standards. A storage regulation was proposed that determine the periods for storing the records of the Authority. The Study also tackled the workforce of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority and the technical operations and provided a proposal for the classification of the devices, laboratories, and workshops “Form” by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority. The status of storage and exchange according to international standards and planning to digitalization of records to contribute effetely in facilitating the administrative process and for easier retrieval and providing the services quickly. Through examining the technical records of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, many results have been reached, most important of which , the necessity of the digitalization of records, especially that part of the records at the Authority is created electronically and that digitalization is the optimal solution for maintaining the records in light of the tremendous technological development so that it is possible to manage and control this huge quantity of records produced by Authority.
