Libraries and Information Science in National Human Rights Strategy of Egypt: A content analysis study

Abstract

This study aims to identify the most prominent items related to library and information science terminology in the National Strategy for Human Rights in Egypt 2021-2026.and to identify the most important points of making the document available, and also evaluating the efforts of government agencies, and government ministries and universities, in issuing the strategy and raising awareness of it through their electronic websites and social media platforms. The study relied on the descriptive approach, using the method of analyzing the content of the strategy document, and used the checklist tool to collect and analyze data. Among the most prominent findings of the study: The strategy document mentioned that the Egyptian Knowledge Bank is the largest Arabic digital library on the Internet. The Permanent Supreme Committee for Human Rights and the Human Rights Studies website of the State Information Service are among the most prominent points of availability of the document. The National Council for Human Rights was keen to be present on the following platforms: YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Ain Shams University is one of the best public universities in the field of strategy awareness. The National Human Rights Strategy has received praise at the national, regional and global levels .Among the most important recommendations of the study: the need to increase the availability of the document on websites. It is preferable to make the National Human Rights Strategy document available in French, in addition to Arabic and English.
