The Institutional excellence of Egyptian Research libraries according to the European Model Standards (EFQM): An exploratory Study from the Perspective of Their Managers

Abstract

This study focused on monitoring the reality of sustainability- In major research libraries in Egypt, in light of the standards of the European model Standards (EFQM), And their total number is six (6) research libraries, The study sample consisted of (90) items, The study objective was to identify the most important factors for achieving institutional excellence, and demonstrating the benefits of self-evaluation of the institution , Furthermore, monitoring the reality of institutional excellence in light of the European model and its standards (Guidance - Implementation - outcome) In the research libraries representing the study sample, from the perspective of their managers ; highlighting as well, the most important challenges that stand in the way of its application, such as (human - organizational - technical - financial) obstacles, and stating the most important proposals that enhance its application, using the descriptive-analytical approach, The study recommended several key suggestions, including the establishment of a clear mechanism to identify ways of implementing the) EFQM( model standards, making it a tangible reality within various research libraries.
