The role of information centers in Educating citizens about facing climate changes in the coastal governorates: an applied study on Kafr El-Sheikh governorate

Abstract

The research mainly aims to identify the role of information centers in educating citizens about facing climate changes in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. To achieve this goal, a simple random sample of 79 centers was chosen from among the centers in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate. Its data include frequencies, percentages, weighted arithmetic mean, relative mean, simple correlation coefficient, multiple regression, and upward gradient regression. The study reached many results, the most important of which are the following:

1- The results showed that information centers play sixteen roles in the field of educating citizens about climate change, and their level of performance was average, as there are 67.09% of the total centers in the middle category.

2- The most influential variables in the role of information centers were the degree of communication with the higher departments, the adequacy of funding, the number of years of experience of the manager, the number of employees, and the educational level of the manager.

3- The study showed that there are many problems that impede the role of the centers in performing their role, the most important of which was the multiplicity of the authorities supervising the centers, and the study came out with some proposals, the most prominent of which was the unification of the supervision and follow-up of the centers.
