BookTok and its effect on book advertising in Egypt : an exploratory analytical

Abstract

The study is based on defining the concept of BookTok and its genesis, defining BookTokers, and determining the extent of BookTok's impact on advertising and promotion of books, bookstores, bookstores, authors, libraries and librarians. In addition to presenting the types of video content displayed on Book Tokers accounts, and studying a sample of Egyptian BookTokers accounts in terms of personal data, number of videos, video download rates, language trends of videos, as well as qualitative and linguistic trends of books displayed through Egyptian BookTokers accounts and determining the extent of the impact Egyptian BookTokers on advertising and promotion of books.The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach, relying on a questionnaire consisting of 21 questions, direct examination of the accounts of Egyptian booktokers, and standard interviews., and the study reached the following results: 80% of Egyptian BookTokers have a university degree, 20% have a pre-university qualification, and 70% of Egyptian BookTokers range from 20 to 20 years old. 29 years, 30% of Egyptian BookTokers contact them to advertise and promote their books
