Medical archives management systems in Al-Azhar University hospitals: Al-Hussein University Hospital as a model A study of reality and a vision for development

Abstract

This research deals with the study of theMedical archives management systems in Al-Azhar University hospitals: Al-Hussein University Hospital as a model, identifying the concept of medical archives and records, their importance, development, components and types, the principles of a good documentation and recording system for medical records, and the technical processes of medical records. And the study of modern trends in the management of medical records and archives, such as modern standards for accrediting the quality of medical records, some of which are at the international level, Including what is at the regional level, Including what is at the local level. It has also been identified leading Egyptian experiences in the field of medical archives management, such as Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357- Egypt, Dar Al Fouad Hospital, and Ain Shams Specialized Hospital. It has also been studied the reality of the medical archive at Al-Hussein University Hospital in terms of manpower, documentary cycle, technical processes, places and environment of preservation in light of standards for document preservation, and its evaluation according to the standards, and studying planning for the transition to the electronic medical record from the justifications and requirements for transferring the electronic system. In addition to designing an integrated and low-cost electronic medical record system to be provided to the hospital under study, in order to effectively contribute to facilitating the administrative process of the hospital and providing health care services to citizens with high efficiency.
