Scientific communication in the digital environment and its impact on the Corona pandemic: Assiut University as a model

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the extent to which the scientific communication of the teaching staff and their assistants at Assiut University by identifying the extent of their use of electronic means of communication and the impact of the Corona epidemic on their use, identifying the most commonly used electronic means, monitoring the reality and trends of scientific publishing for the teaching staff and their assistants at Assiut University, and identifying The extent to which electronic information sources are used and staff’s attitudes towards free access sources. The researcher used the field approach. The study was applied to twelve colleges, six colleges representing practical colleges, and the other six representing theoretical colleges. A sample of 240 members, and the questionnaire was used. As a data collection tool, the study concluded that the vast majority of the teaching staff and their assistants at Assiut University benefit from electronic means of communication in the field of education and scientific research. The use after the Corona crisis, and that electronic books are the most important and used sources, and the study recommended encouraging the university for researchers to strengthen communication Supporting publishing research and participating in conferences, conducting training seminars and courses on how to access and use electronic resources and free access resources,.
