The phenomenon of homeless children is one of the most serious challenges facing the entire international community, so many international and local institutions have been interested in estimating the extent and spread of the phenomenon and limiting it, in light of this interest libraries have made many efforts represented in providing a range of library services and programs for this category. The current study aims to describe and analyze the services and activities of the libraries services of social care institutions concerned with homeless children in Egypt, and to identify the obstacles facing the services of those libraries, according to a checklist specially designed to monitor the reality of these services and the obstacles they face. The study revealed the diversity of services and activities of the libraries of care institutions in Greater Cairo and the service of answering queries and the activity of narrative of stories occupy the forefront in the services and activities of these libraries. The study made several recommendations the most important of which are: Activating and revitalizing these services and activities to motivate the children of institutions to go to the library and achievement the role assigned to it.
