The Effect of Strategic Intelligence on the Effectiveness of Crisis Management: An Exploratory Study of Administrative Leaders’ Opinions in some Central University Libraries

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the impact of strategic intelligence in its various dimensions, namely: foresight, strategic vision, systematic thinking, partnership, and motivation, on the effectiveness of crisis management in its dimensions represented in: organizational effectiveness, effectiveness of information systems, effectiveness of communication system, cost effectiveness, and technological effectiveness from the point of view of the administrative leaders in some central university libraries. The Libraries are the new central library at Cairo University, the central library at Alexandria University, the central library at Ain Shams University, and the central library at Assiut University. The paper also aims at defining the concept of strategic intelligence, its importance, principles, and ways of taking care of it. The concept of crisis management, the effectiveness of crisis management. The difficulties it faces from the point of view of the administrative leaders in the central university libraries. A questionnaire was used as a main tool for collecting data from the study population, which reached (63) administrative leaderships, the researcher relied mainly on the field research methodology, in addition to the analytical descriptive methodology. The results showed the clear and important impact of strategic intelligence on the effectiveness of crisis management, especially the two dimensions, which are: motivation and partnership. The administrative leaderships of central university libraries had a strategic intelligence rate of 70.70%, which is considered a high level. The study recommends the need to pay attention to motivating workers, and establishing alliances and strategic partnerships.
