Writing in the Holy Qur’an and the Bible: A Comparative Analytical Study

Abstract

The history of writing, its tools and materials constitute an important aspect of library science, as writing is one of the most important means of transmitting ideas, sciences, human knowledge, and religious.beliefs All religions have been interested in writing, as the sanctity of religion itself was reflected on them. From the beginning, writing was considered a means of preserving divine speech. Thus, this study seeks to enumerate what was mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the Bible of writing terms, their derivatives, tools, and materials. The study then to explores the writing tools and materials mentioned in the Holy Qur’an and the Bible. The article uses the comparative analytical method. The current study is divided into an introduction, and three sections The first section deals with the concept of writing, its history, importance, tools, and finally its materials, while the second section handles how religion regards writing. It includes the stature of writing in Judaism and Christianity, and Islam. The third section discusses writing and its derivatives, tools, and materials in the Holy Qur’an and theBible. It also presents the most important terms related to writing contained in the Holy Qur’an and the Bible. The study concludes with the most important findings of the study results, and recommendations.
