The role of academic preparation programs in qualifying non-specialized workers with higher qualifications in Egyptian libraries A comparative analytical study

Abstract

The study deals with academic preparation programs for non-specialized workers with higher qualifications in Egyptian libraries. And the extent of the impact of this on graduates, as this study is concerned with monitoring the problems that learners face when studying these programs, developing appropriate solutions to them, and thus developing a set of proposals to develop and improve these programs and improve the level of satisfaction with them. It has been relying on the survey method and the method of content analysis, and the analytical and comparative approach has been used. Among the most prominent findings of the study is that there is a clear discrepancy between the library and information diploma programs in the Faculties of Arts in Egyptian public universities. This is in terms of the applicable academic regulations, their objectives, their names, the study system and its duration, the number of courses, the number of teaching hours for the academic courses, the number of graduates thereof. The study also recommended the necessity of appropriate publicity and good promotion of these programs, working on the availability of intense desire and an urgent need to join them, and the necessity of continuous follow-up of all new developments in the specialization of recent topics and the needs of the labor market and their representation in the academic courses, and working to increase the number of courses that cover the decisions of the beneficiaries Systems and institutions.
