Health Information Availability Practices for Coronavirus (Covid-19): An Analytical Study of Arab Governmental Health Sites

Abstract

Providing health information during an outbreak of any pandemic is a key component in controlling an outbreak of that disease, and official health information websites are the first resort for obtaining health information for a large number of people. The study aimed to specify the policies of Arab Countries in providing information to educate citizens about Coronavirus (COVID-19), and to ensure the quality of the website launched by the Egyptian Government to raise awareness about Coronavirus (COVID-19) compared to similar websites in the Arab Countries. Moreover, it aimed to identify the Egyptians'''' behavior in obtaining information related to Coronavirus (COVID-19). To achieve that, the study applied the survey approach as one of the most consistent approaches with the subject of the study. The study showed several results, most notably that the United Arab Emirates ranked first in the information availability about Coronavirus (COVID-19), followed by Kuwait and Tunisia. On the other hand, the awareness website of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first with great superiority in evaluating of awareness websites, followed by Kuwait in second place, while the Egyptian awareness website ranked equal sixth, and Libya ranked last.
