Abstract:
The importance of the classification and coding of documents of all kinds lies in the documentation processes, as it is one of the basic processes in the work of documentation, as they are important and essential processes in order to carry out the documentation process to preserve the information and supporting documents, and therefore the most effective methods and means that facilitate the retrieval of those documents and information must be followed. Accordingly, we must sort and classify these documents and information according to a logic that no documenter can but follow by setting out what is homogeneous and compatible with each other.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued a number of specialized regulations, laws and regulations in a short period of time starting from 1988 / 1409H to date, and the importance of the subject of classification and coding of documents and archives as one of the most important technical subjects concerned by the institutions and organs of the State, This study, which dealt with the regulations issued for the classification and coding of documents and archives in the Kingdom, a descriptive analytical and analytical study, and completed by the researcher comment and provide scientific observations that complement the case of critical analysis, Intention, which will reveal the strengths, as well as the shortcomings and deficiencies in this technical field specialist, which also helps those who to implement them in the ministries and government departments in the country
