Abstract

The study aimed to identify the experience of Tanta University in the field of e-learning in light of the Corona pandemic that passed in the world in late 2019, as the researcher studied the reality of e-learning at Tanta University by shedding light on the application of the idea of e-learning in the Department of Libraries, Documents and Information, Faculty of Arts, Tanta University The study also aimed to get acquainted with the opinions of students and faculty members in the department about this experience, and to achieve these goals the researcher used the case study methodology, which is concerned with collecting information about a specific phenomen ,As well as the uses of the descriptive and analytical method, to analyze the contents of the electronic platforms made available by Tanta University for faculty members to communicate with students, and the researcher relied on personal interviews with officials of the university's e-learning center, faculty members in the department, and a questionnaire to collect study data, during the academic year 2019 - 2020. The study reached many results, the most important of which are: Tanta University provided three electronic platforms for communication between faculty members and students of the various faculties of the university, the first platform, the electronic platform for raising lectures, and the second platform, the Microsoft Teams distance education platform; For communication between students and faculty members and completing explaining lectures, and the third platform, Student Research Evaluation Platform
